As evening arrives, The Royal can offer you the ideal wind-down ...Pre-dinner drinks in convivial company, sunk into the comfortable settees of the Lounge Bar. And whilst you luxuriate over the menus, take the opportunity to sample one of our 170 Single Malt Whiskies. Your choices for dining are distinctively different: you can stay in the comfort of the Lounge bar, move through to the open hearthed library, dine informally in the Brasserie (which looks on to the Hotel grounds and hills beyond) or go formal in the beautifully appointed Dining Room. For more casual eating you can snack in the Royal's Public Bar while playing pool or, in good weather, eat alfresco in the walled garden. .Perthshire is often referred to as Scotland's Larder and our chefs have an enviable reputation for their inspired use of natural ingredients - prime Scotch beef, lamb, venison, salmon, trout, game, sea fish, shell fish and the best soft fruit in Europe. All are harnessed to give you the very best of Scottish cuisine and a memorable culinary experience worthy of your stay at the Royal.
If all that active relaxation gets too much for you, then ask about some of our more passive treatment such as aromatherapy and reflexology. Fishing and shooting tailored made packages offered designed to suit your needs. Further leisure choice is available with watersports on nearby Loch Earn.

A host of local cultural attractions are all available in the close vicinity. Glenturret Distillery (the oldest in Scotland, Auchingarrich Wildlife Centre, Drummond Castle Gardens (featured in the film Rob Roy), Drummond Trout Fishery, Stuart Crystal Centre and the historic Scone Palace in the City of Perth, former capital of Scotland. Fortingall, a former Roman outpost, was the birthplace of Roman Governor Pontius Pilate whose father, a Centurian, was stationed there during the occupation. Most unusual amongst the attractions is Comrie's Earthquake House, the earliest seismological station in Britain established in 1792. Comrie lies on the Great Highland Fault Lime and has experienced minor tremors from time to time. There is no need to worry, you will get a bigger tremor from a glass of Earthquake ale served in the Royal's two bars!
